How do I use the monthly CommonGround statistics?

CommonGround Monthly Statistics are a great way to keep an eye on fidelity, and to identify areas for the Leadership Team to focus on. The stats generated are based on how clients and staff are using the CommonGround program. Stats are in the aggregate, and not displayed by individual users.

Filter by date

When viewing monthly statistics, the date range can be selected for both “from” and “to”.  Currently, the data will only show for complete months, regardless of the specific date you select.

Filter by site

You can also view data for your specific clinic, for all clinics of your “type” (outpatient, inpatient, peer center), or across all CommonGround sites regardless of type.

Filter by group

And, you can select data based on “User type” as.  You can choose to view data for only clients, only staff, or combined clients/staff.

Queries

CommonGround generates monthly statistics in nine different areas. There are two different ways to read the information in the Monthly Statistics page: the graph and the numerical data table. The line graph contains plotted numerical data. When you check the box next to the item you want to plot, a visual representation of that data appears in the line graph.

Client Preparedness

The statistics page default is set to Client Preparedness.  This query measures the extent to which clients are prepared to use CommonGround. Client Preparedness looks at whether or not enrolled clients have Personal Medicine, Power Statements, and Pill Medicine entered into the system.

Auto-Suggestions

Auto-Suggestions lets you examine data relating to the automatically generated resources that pop up at the end of the CommonGround survey.  This is the total number of suggestions generated. When you click on the number, you will see a breakdown of the specific auto-suggestions provided.

Content Viewed

The Content Viewed query choice displays statistics about the resources within CommonGround that has been accessed by users. This includes aggregate data for all content viewed, as well as breakdowns for the type of content that has been accessed. You can filter for all users, or explore the content viewed specifically by staff or clients.

Medication Concerns (Averages)

Medication Concerns (Averages) is another area available for exploration.  In this averages section, you are able to see the mean (average), and the median (middle) number of medications concerns and sub-concerns per report (the “say more” options). You can also look at the minimum number of concerns reported, and the maximum number of concerns.

These data points can be filtered to display results from first reports only, or cumulative.

Medication Concerns (Scales)

You are able to delve deeper into medication concerns in the next query choice: Medication Concerns (Scales).  For this choice, you can look at the specific medication concerns reported by CommonGround users.

This statistics feature allows you to look at specific subscale concerns as well.

Reports (Numeric) and Reports (Percent)

Another query choice available to users is Reports (Numeric) and Reports (Percent).   These statistics provide information on the number of reports started, and completed.  Also, you can view information on how many reports, completed in a given month (or cumulatively), have Personal Medicine, Power Statements, Pill Medicine, Trouble Swallowing Pills, and Shared Decisions.

User Accounts

The User Accounts query choice contains the number of active and inactive accounts in CommonGround. You can filter for all users, or look specifically at clients or staff users.

User Login

Finally, the User Login query choice contains information about how users are logging in to CommonGround. Again, this can be filtered for all users, or to look specifically at clients or staff users. You can also look at the cumulative logins over time.

It's important to note that  “Total Logins” is very different from “Distinct Users who Logged In”. “Distinct Users who Logged In” refers to the unique users who have logged in, while “Total Logins” refers to the total number of times users have logged in.  For example, 23 users (distinct users) logged in a total of 176 times (total logins).  It is important to look at both of these numbers in tandem to get an accurate picture of CommonGround usage.
