How do I deactivate or delete a user?
SPECIAL NOTE: Deactivating and destroying users is only available for
Clinic Admin users.
CommonGround is designed to manage client accounts without having to delete and re-enter people who may be absent from treatment for several months.
Anyone enrolled as a user in CommonGround can be made
active (which is the normal status),
inactive, or can be
destroyed.
Deactivating users
- Click on the "Users" navigation button
- Search for the user
- Click the red "trash can" under the "Deactivate" column next
Once clicking on the ‘trash can’, the person’s status is changed and you can no longer access this person’s CommonGround content. To reactivate someone, simply click on restore.
Destroying Users
We strongly recommend never destroying a client user as this action is the same as destroying someone’s medical record. It is a permanent action that cannot be undone. However, it is ok to destroy staff users. As a safety measure, we have made the act of destroying a record a multi-step process:
- Deactivate the user
- Click on destroy
- Enter “DESTROY” into the text field
- Click “Destroy User”
